What barrel lube??

I use John Deere anti-seize. it comes in a can with brush and be had from your local JD dealer for only a few bucks. Appears to be a copper base.

High temperature bearing grease is my choice. I want lubricity, and anti corrosive properties and don't want it to melt away with heat.

Read the Machinist Handbooks, it recommends "grease".

Obsolutely, The reason I use high temperature grease is some guns especially F-Class guns shot in hot weather get real hot.

Marine wheel bearing grease is an extreme pressure grease with moisture inhibitors, and heat resistance.

With 2b or better threads you want a good fit with all the anti gauling properties.

I have been installing barrels since the late 60's and never had one yet that was lubed with grease gall on me yet.

I have seen many barrels that were treated with anti seize over the years rust together where they had to be machined apart with a parting tool and boring bar.
