What Are Hogue Extreme Series G10 Grips

They do not even have an explanation of what they are on their web site. Are they more recoil absorbing than their tamer grips?

Hard and sharp. Great for wet grip or with gloves, not so good with dry hands (too sharp for mine anyway).
I sanded mine down a bit.

Look at a lot of the current 1911 "tacticool" models and you will see G10. It looks a little like fish scales, but not...uually tan and black. But it comes in a lot of colors.

I had them on my 45 for three minutes before I put on Rosewood double diamonds. But that's just me.

I have G10 (not Hogue) on 4 1911's, wouldn't use anything else. They don't wear out like skateboard tape. To answer one of your comments, no, they are not 'recoil tamers' like the rubber ones claim to be. These are hard. Not much recoil there anyway unless you get into 10mm territory. My suggestion to those who think they are too sharp or rough is to shoot more.

Thank for the info. I do not want abrasive grips. Recoil taming for my wife. The grips that is.
They are not abrasive. I just handed one of mine to my wife and asked her if she thought they were in any way sharp or abrasive or whatever. "No."
Roll the dice.

ETA: Different patterns, etc., are available from most makers, so there could be some that are sharper than others.
