What action length for a 300WSM

I'm getting ready for my first try at chambering a barrel. What length of action do I need to use for a 300WSM? I want to build a mag feed rifle.

A long action will give you the option of seating the bullets further out.

A short action is plenty. Less bolt action with a short action. If you want to extract an unfired round from a short action, you can remove the bolt.
Magazine length and action length do not correlate.

Get a Borden Alpine Mag action everything is designed around the shortmags including a 2.75" port and feed rails that feed the shortmags better!

Either will work, I have 2 - 300WSM's, one on a long action & one on a short. Both work fine & honestly other that another 1/4" of action, I can't tell the difference using them. The long does give you the opportunity to really seat out bullets as stated earlier.
