Western Powders question

I am now back into reloading but on a much smaller scale with just hand dies and an arbor press for hunting loads. Have all the basics and was able to get a can of Ramshot Big Game and a box of 168gr amax for my 30-06. I dont have easy access to a range anymore so have to load test out in the woods. Nothing convenient!

To save me a bit of initial experimentation, does anyone know how the Western load data is considered to be in the range of 'conservative to hot'. The Big Game range in the manual is 49-54.4 grains for that amax. I know there are other factors but this is just a general question. Thx

49 gr conservative 54.5 towards the top end. when you get up towards the top end look for signs of pressure. flattened primer's etc. your brass will let you know when you're getting up there in pressure.

Since you can't test, all you can do is find data that includes muzzle, and hopefully downrange, velocity for the sake of bullet performance.

Yeah thx i'm covered. I didnt say cant test, its just now much more inconvenient. I can also borrow a magnetospeed. I have a Sauer 200 so not concerned about the pressure part.
