West Virginia U wins 5th straight NCAA Championship

Yes, congrats to the WVU team! And, happy to say that Morgan Phillips, who finished first in smallbore this year, used to shoot our indoor winter 75ft prone matches here in eastern PA at Guthsville Rod & Gun. Great to see her progress to this level.

That is great! I can remember when ETSU had a great program, but the school decided that the better choice was golf.. so they sold off most of what they had for the smallbore program.. it is still alive there to a small extent, in that the ROTC program participants keep it gingerly alive.

WVU should be good for years to come.
Jean-Pierre Lucas-only senior from Speers, Pa
Noah Baker-Freshman from Winfield, WV
Jack Anderson-Freshman from Franklin, PA
Will Anti-Soph from Ft Benning, Georgia - Will
is the Son of Will Anti-retired Army Major, 4 time Olympian and Silver medalist, and Air Force Academy coach.

Now these guys need to hitch up their pants and catch up with their 4 Lady team mates.

I knew that and typed Will. I met Mike and Will the weekend Mike was inducted in the WVU Hall of Fame. I was there for the WVU-OU football game to watch my Grandson. Jon Hammond, the coach, invited me to the rifle team practice. A great visit.

My daughter is a precision rifle shooter also. We have met Mike and spoken with him on a few occasions. Very nice guy. He and Launi do a tremendous job at Air Force. Have not spoken with Jon. What he is doing at WV is something special. I'd sure like to visit with these college coaches more, but NCAA rules really limit your conversation abilities, when you have a younger kid. The conversations have to stay real generic.

Jean-Pierre was the #1 ranked 2006 1000 yard IBS Long Range Junior Shooter in the nation, 2006 Overall Heavy Gun Virginia 1000 Yard State Champion, 2 Gun Grand Overall 1000 Yard IBS Ohio State Champion, and 2007 World Open Long Range Championships Top Junior Shooter in Light Class.

Great performance !! This team almost went the way of the Dodo bird several years ago. As a WV native I am glad it survived and has set the records it has over the last 5 years.

Have lived in VA since 1965 ant went to VPI so I can't root for the Mountaineers but will say Butch's grandson is one H### of a ball player.

Gotta confess, I root for all the shooting teams in the USA. I love when the competition gets raised to a higher level. Congrats to WVU. My personal loyalties lie elsewhere, but my favorite teams just need to work harder.

I would love to see some collegiate F-Class teams.
