I went to my first ever shooting match on Saturday, the Cactus Classic as a spectator.
I had no idea of what to expect and I gotta tell you I loved every minute of it.
As far as the riffles go I wish I had brought a bib,the drool never stopped.
It was interesting to find out that there is "NO ONE"technique used.Everybody had there own style of doing things.
I didn't want to bother the shooters as they were cleaning and loading but was very impressed when they struck up a conversation with me and were very happy to answer any and all questions I had.
The best part of the day was talking to a guy that had introduced himself as "Walt".After about ten minutes he handed me and my shooting buddy a business card and told us to contact him if we ever wanted to come out and shoot with him.
As we walked away I looked at the card and to my surprise it was Walt Berger...of Berger Bullets. He was compeating and still took time to talk to us.A class act all the way.
I can assure you this won't be the last match I attend. There was no fee as a spectator, however I did spend $100.00 in the Brunos tent).
It was a well spent Saturday.
