Looking for some quality bore guides and all the ones I can find have the solvent port way at the far end of the tube, so you hafta push solvent all the way down the bore guide tube and then your dry patches gotta mop up all the solvent that's wasted in the tube.

Why doesn't anyone put the solvent ports down near the chamber to be accessed thru the ejection port?

Make one, and I'll but two from ya.

Get a jp bore guide for an ar. Theyre the only ones like that i know of. Personally i put my stuff on patches outside the guide but if i did use the solvent port i would rather it be in the back so if it drips or spills out of the side itll drip on my stock protector instead of inside the action

I hate it when it happens but I'm in complete lock-step with this one.
Solvent on patch or brush before it goes in the rod guide. As a matter of fact, most of my guides have no port.

Like the others - I never use the port.

I use Sinclair rod guides which have a beveled end which helps prevent squeezing the solvent off the patch as the rod enters the guide. In fact, I open up the bevel a bit more with a Dremel tool small cone grinder which made the guide more effective in retaining the solvent on the patch. If your rod guide has a rubber sealing "O' ring to prevent solvent leakage into the chamber then the guide just becomes an extension of the barrel preserving the solvent throughout the stroke.

I use wipe out. I push the little hose that comes with the product way down in to the chamber and hit the button on top of the can.

I use squeeze bottle wipeout. Works excellent.

Also have a can of the era soul I haven't used yet.

How many cleanings do you get out of the aerosol can?

I bought the possum hollow add in port. I forget allot that is there.
I thought it would help save solvent now I'm thinking I actually use more solvent by not seeing how saturated the patch is.
The scope is in the way for all except the needle applicators. If it was forward any I probably would drip into the action by missing the hole.

I put the patch on the jag, then solvent on the patch, then put this into bore guide. Doing it this way allows you to see how much solvent is actually on the patch, vs. just getting it on one side.

The solvent port for me, regardless of position is of no use. There are a lot of products out there that are solutions for problems that don't exist, designed only to separate you from your money.
