Weird Dents In New Lapua 6BR Cases

I broke open a new box of Lapua 6BR brass to make up 100 new 30 BR cases, and found these two in the mix. This is a pretty violent dent.

Too much lube when they formed the neck/shoulders?
Might blow out when fired if the dents aren't creased at the bottom?
Could be bad enough to blow out AND thru if so.
Might consider sending picks of the defects to Lapua QC.

I think these will fire form alright. The one on the left looks worse than the other, but both should OK. I mean, you have new brass, freshly annealed.

I've noticed lately more complaints about Laupa brass than before. @jackieschmidt maybe you should let Laupa know about this. They will certainly listen to you. I wouldn't use either case and take a chance of cutting the chamber shoulder. JMO

Send them a message and they will replace them. I had 2/1000 that had flaws out of the box and they sent me 5 new cases

Their not worth shooting for a few $ of brass. I wouldn't take the chance, but that's me.

I’ve fire formed a lot of BRX and those are the ones that always fail. They will replace them if you call them first but not necessarily from the same lot.

Contact Lapua. I had a defective .221 case and they sent me ten replacements. Those look like folds to me.

My last box of Lapua 6BR, circa ‘22 I believe, had 2 cases with big creases like that in them. My Peterson 6br cases have been just as durable and shot just as small. Same story with my last batch of Lapua 6.5x47. In that case, the Peterson shot smaller. I don’t need more brass, but I will think twice about Lapua if Peterson (6BR and 6.5x47) or Alpha (6PPC) are available when I do.

I have 2 cases in 100 also. Mine were only slight but pretty much same shape / position on the shoulder.

I wouldn't shoot them! Gas cut your chamber and you'll be sorry you did! Not worth 2 pieces of crap. I gave up sending bad cases back. My time is worth far more than the cost of few cases. By the time you figure packing them, shipping cost, gas to go to post office and your personal time, it's not worth it.

I hope you're not being facetious, but fire forming AI brass you learn how malleable brass is.
Secondly, I wouldn't attempt to tell Jackie what to do. I'm sure he's experienced enough that he had his mind made up before he posted the photo.
I stated what I would do, and I stand by that.
