Weight-Sorting for 30BR & 6mmBR-DX

Have a big box of Lapua 6mmBR that I'm weight-sorting right off the bat for my 30BR and/or 6mmBR-DX.
Is there some advantage to keeping the heavy portion of the sort for the neck-up to 30BR?
Or is this just "straining at a gnat", so to speak? Average weight about 126.4 grns; SD ~0.3grns.

As an update, the fractions of the Lapua are as follows
< 126.1 grns: 9
126.1-126.4: 39
126.4-126.7: 39
> 126.7: 13

Guess I'll keep the two big fractions for the 6mmBR-DX.
But should I mix these two fractions?

Will neck up the two smaller fractions for the 30BR and use them for "plinking", more or less, as the barrel life of the 30 is expected to be so much greater than the 6mm.

Are either of your barrels chambered with a "tight neck" reamer? If they are, you are wasting your time weight sorting before neck turning or uniforming primer pockets.

Eddie:
Both are "no turn" chambers, but I do turn the necks very slightly (~50% of the circumference), and of course the 30BR needs it for the portion of the neck that was once the shoulder. In weighing cases in the past and then turning them like I do, then re-weighing them, it rarely changes a case from one group to anther.

I weigh my cases before I do anything to them. I have never seen a bad case cause a problem at 1000. Matt

Weight is a stand in for volume. If you are good with using a stand in vs the primary, that's all good. Just realize what you are doing.

Weight or volume, it is consistency that is going to matter. Sort them into groups and rock on. Any "jokers" can be used for foulers.

Right, GSVP. It's what statisticians call an "index number". If I had to guess, sorting the cases as they come from the factory is a bit better of an index of volume than after all the case prep. With a brand that has a lot of remains from punching the flash hole through, it might be better to ream the flash hole first.
The "jokers" as you aptly call them, is the question; and your answer is a good one.
Eventually you could end up with a lot of jokers on hand.
Maybe life is just like that.

Hopefully, the distribution is roughly normal. Take those within some N * the SD for your match loads. Foul with the idiot fringes.
