I have a tuned beam scale and can see the beam deflect from one kernel. It didn't cost thousands of dollars and I didn't have to wait for a year or more.

I have recommended your tuning abilities many times and will continue to do so, but my scale is not only super accurate, it's also automatic, every 8-10 seconds its ready to charge a case, I charged and seated 200 rounds in 50 minutes the other day.

Ahh! You mean like this Brian. :)

Not my machine, I picked mine up in Feb, it's one of the first ones with the new electronics, mine is faster than this one.

My solution is simple....shoot cartridges that hold MOUNTIANS of powder. ;D 1/10 grain means way more to a 28 grain charge than it does to a 90+ grain charge. It's simple math. ;)

When trying to weigh very small amounts it is better to weigh 'differentially'. That is put 40 or 50 grains on the scale and then REMOVE a small quantity.

Accuracy at zero grains is waaayyy different than accuracy at 40 or 50 grains.

Even if you could weigh one kernel accurately, since the kernels vary you are better off putting 10-20 on the scale and measuring that and dividing by the number of kernels - the more the better -just a matter of patience.
[/quoteThat's the way I do it and yes , the kernel size varies if you look at them very closely, some powders more so than others. I've seen guys actually cut kernels for the " perfect " charge. I thought they were crazy, or terribly OCD'd.

Some tortured minds can be put at ease by the littlest things... :D
