Weaver or Sightron???

Hello everyone...Newbie here.

I am going to re-glass one or two of my rifles for some future F-Class and Benchrest shooting.
Which is the best way to go?
Weaver T36
or
Sightron II 36X42 BR D

Thanks for your input!

I have used both the Weaver36 and Sightron 36. My vote goes for the Sightron 36 br-d. They have good customer service and I think a life time warranty.

I would go with a 8 x 32 or 10 x 50 Sightron if you are going to shoot F- Class. So you can roll back the power on days with lots of mirage.

+1 on the Sightron 8-32. On heavy mirage days it is nice to have some flexibility. Larry Scott at Liberty Optics has great prices and outstanding service

I own two Weaver T36s and a Leupold 45X Competition. The T36 is fine even with moderate to heavy mirage. The secret is to wait and watch for the crosshair to appear to snap back to your point of aim, that's an indication that the mirage has abated for a segment of time and during that segment you're seeing a mirage free view of the target. Shoot fast!

Also, use a barrel mirage shield to at least eliminate or dissipate the heat coming off your barrel. You don't need to compete with two sources of mirage when you don't have to. Make sure the shield is at least 3 inches wide. I made one from an old target. It's 3"X18" and had it laminated for a couple of bucks. Attach with 3 small squares or dots of Velcro to the barrel and shield.
