I got one 2 years ago for under $500.00 (shipped for free) and it's the best scope for the money spent that I've gotten in a long time. - Use of a mirage shield helps on those hot days helps some. - I'm running mine on a custom 20-222 Ackley Imp. and couldn't be more pleased.

The problem with them you can't get them repaired..... they had issues and weaver is no more ..... you send one back you will get a replacement no where near what you had..... jim

I have 4 of them the oldest being about 3-4 years old have them on 6.5x47 and 6ppc’s great scope and no problems, knock on wood. As mentioned above weaver is gone and if you do have a problem that is where unhappy will happen.

If nothing condenses on the lens internals, you got lucky. Could never understand why Weaver recalled them and never re-issued them. Those that had them liked them alot. Perhaps the company was in financial crises at the time.

What to say but good luck with it. In addition to what has been mentioned, Weavers were good low priced scopes that, when they worked, they worked well, but every one of the little darlins I had eventually STB on top of a 13.5 lb. 30BR varmint for score rifle. For that matter, so did two Leupold competition scopes. I'm sure that if you shoot any rifle scope long enough it will go south on you....usually in the middle of a match !
