Weatherby mark v action question

Will remage barrel nut and barrel work for wby Accumark rifle action? Thinking of Shilen 8T ratchet barrel to shoot 300prc with Berger 245gr elite hunter bullets for steel buffalo 1680yds at Elmore Farms LLC in Laura Illinois. Rifle presently factory 300wby mag with 10T bbl. Not much success with 208amax@2850fps. Thanks

Have you tried any other bullets? How many powders have you tried? Is this a hunting weight barrel? How many rounds down the barrel? Does it have a carbon ring that needs cleaning. Can't help but think the Weatherby is a barrel burner.

Kind of an open ended question, but it can be made to work. Most likely the barrel will not index properly, so depending on what is on the barrel or what the index needs to be, it might need to be adjusted by a gunsmith. At least some of the Mark V actions used 1-1/6-16 which is what many Rem 700 (and clones) use.

If the rifle wasn't used much, the barrel might be in great condition. Most Weatherbys were used for hunting, so use could vary.
