I bought the previously owned (fancy words for used) gun last month, it had a synthetic stock. I figured good price, no big deal, I would simply buy a used wood stock and get on down the road. Wrong. Long action used factory wood stocks are hard to find, used (word to describe poor condition) and overpriced.
I called the factory today and they had one to fit my gun (turns out there are more than just 2 variants). It wasn’t cheap but it will be the real deal. It shall be known as the Steinway Stock. I like doing business with Weatherby, the employees like being at work and it shows when you talk to them. Buying ammo direct from them is less painful than from the vendors.
I no longer hunt, I just like big guns, like the nice finish and don’t play the piano. If it doesn’t make sense, you also don’t play.
