WE MISS YOU SID!!!

4 years ago today, the world was diminished when we lost one of the finest human beings on the planet, Sid Goodling. Not only was Sid one of the finest gunsmith's anywhere he was truly one of the kindest, nicest, unselfish, and caring person that I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Anyone out here in Accurate Shooter land who knew him knows what I'm talking about. Sid would stop what he was doing if you had a problem and needed help. He was one rare person. I never heard one person say one bad word about him. He was just a super guy and I miss the Hell out of him. I know your in a better place and not suffering anymore Sid but I can say with all honesty, those of us who knew you love and miss you immensely. RIP my friend. I hope to see you again someday.

Sid was my Mentor when getting into the 6ppc. Got me my 262 reamer I still use today. Recently I was very fortunate to acquire a very nice 6 Dasher he made still sporting one of his tuners that I will be competing with this year.....It just sucks when the best of us are taken ahead of time.....

Regards
Rick

I didn't know Sid. But I lost my best friend, who died two hours after his third daughter was born, from sepsis caused by a gall stone. It has been 26 years. I ain't moved no where.

He was my best friend. He died at 33. I am now 59. I often think of him and am grateful for him. And I miss him.

So I understand Jim's feelings about SId.

I like the saying that everyone really dies twice - first when you physically die, and again the last time you are ever thought of. Nice to see someone keeping a friend alive..
I just feel that all of us get caught up in life and we're busy doing stuff all the time and as we get older some of us forget about things and some of the people that impacted our life. I didn't know Sid all that long only 7 years but out of anyone I met in this game that I play he impacted my life more than any other person that I have ever met in the benchrest game. Anyone who knew him man he was just different. He was so genuine a person. You couldn't get mad at him if you tried. I'd call him up just to say hi or I was in a jam about something that was going on with one of my rifles and 95% of the time he would answer and if he was busy he's drop what he was doing to talk. When I use to visit him in his shop when I was on my way to a match down south he always had time to drop what he was doing to just sit down and rap for a while. He was just so layed back and just a different kind of person. He always made you feel like you were the most important person to him but he was like that with everyone. Sid could make friends with an angry wolverine. So if I sound stupid to that guy from Arizona too bad. I could see you saying that if I wrote something everyday about him and I ought to see a shrink but I do this once a year on his passing date. If you can't grasp that then your screwed up and your the one who ought to see one. What you said was uncalled for and you disrespected me and every shooter on this site who knew him. Some guy's that knew him would definitely appreciate and want to know so that they can reflect back on their memory of Sid at least once a year. Each and everyone out there is truly diminished by Sid's passing whether you knew him or not. For those who didn't have the pleasure of meeting him you are diminished the most because I wish you could of met him just once because after you did I would bet my life on it that you would of said what a great guy he is. He was just one of a kind.
