VV560 with 284

i was experimenting with VV560 with my straight 284 rifle with Berger 180 hybrid.
Compared to the h4831sc that I generally use I get about 80-100 fps higher speed, which I desirable. On the other side, I have noticed that after 15-20 shots, as the barrel gets hot, I was starting hitting higher toward the upper limit of the ten ring at 12 hr. This is scary as you can easily end up with a nine. Anybody has similar of different experience with this powder - bullet combination?

Near the onset of my shooting F-Open, for 1000 yard competition, I started shooting a 6.5 x 284. When they first came out with the Berger 140 Hybrid, that was the bullet I used. I also started with VV N560. Fabulously accurate and F-A-S-T! BUT it ate my throat up just as fast as I was spitting out those 140 pills! It is a GREAT powder and I would readily recommend it for hunting. However, for competition where long shot strings are what's called for, I don't recommend it. There is no doubt it would work great, just be prepared to buy barrels at break neck speed! However, to answer your question directly, no I did not experience anything like you're experiencing.

Thanks. What you say makes a lot sense. I will stick to my old faithful h4381sc.
