VV N140 and Berger 200.20X

anyone have any loads for VV N140 and Berger 200.20X and or
VV N150 and Berger 200.20X ?
thanks in advance

All my barrels are off a .180fb reamer so with that in mind...

I'm at 44.7gr of N150 in Palma brass with the 200.20X. I'd advise starting at 43.8gr and working up in .2gr increments, as I've known a few folks who settled in lower (different lot of N150).
N140 I'd start off at 43.4 and work up, one of my barrels like 44.4gr, same deal with Palma brass.

I prefer N150.

My barrel is .160-170freebore and I'm using Peterson brass. N150 and N140 are both 44.1gr. N140 runs 2675 and N150 about 35fps slower. Both need a long drop tube, and the N140 is a pretty hot load.

What kind of jump/jam does the 20x typically like?
Mark,
There is no "typical" bullet seating depth accuracy node for any bullet. It always depends on what YOUR RIFLE likes. With the BERGER HYBRID bullets. I suggest that you start at .015 OFF THE LANDS. Then WORK BACK INTO THE CARTRIDGE CASE in .005 increments. Once you find a bullet seating depth accuracy node that shows promise. Go .002 to either side of that CBTO to see if you can "tweak" it a little bit. All bullet seating depth testing should be done first. Using the STARTING POWDER CHARE LISTED FOR THE BULLET/POWDER/CARTRIDGE COMBINATION YOU ARE LOADING!

Hope their not going to send him the load data from the VV load data tables . that's about as useless to comp shooters as tits on a boar hog . Maybe someday ; the "Capstone Group" will figure out that the majority of their customers are NOT hunters , who load to "Mag" length only . And provide some Real World useable information . Silly me ! Then we wouldn't be burning up pounds of powder , and boxes of bullets trying to develop a useable load . What the Hell was I thinking ? (sarc)

My "Bud" and I have been experimenting with N-150 and 200.20x loads . What he has been shooting lately is 44.6gr at .015 off touch , and getting a avg. MV of about 2630 . Rifle is a Savage FTR , with a Criterion 30" , 1-10 twist . Lapua SRP brass , and seeing no adverse affects on the brass or primers . Tried 44.8gr , but it started to open up the group .

N150 is far more commonly used than N140 in UK FTR with 185gn and heavier bullets. Almost everybody uses SP brass too and experience has shown that N140 starts to suffer ignition issues at higher temperatures than N150. Or at any rate, this applied to the pair before Viht went to the new anti-coppering / temperature stable formula of which I've no experience.

We shoot F all year round and whilst the British winter is relatively mild, it's still cold enough some days to make SP brass ignition 'iffy' and LP cases are definitely better for N140 at somewhere around the 5-deg C (41-F) level or colder.

5 - C ( 41-F ) ? Seriously ? I'm lookin for a working fireplace , and a shot of Glenlivet when it gets to those numbers . In the Nancy and Michelle club on this one . TURN UP the HEAT ! Ya need to visit us in Phx. for a winter or two , and you wouldn't miss those Bixley winds either . We got our own special brand at Ben Avery . :):):)
