You can use it in 223 Rem with 80gn and heavier bullets in suitably long-throated chambers. It's particularly suited to 90s in the 223 and was the powder that the Canadian pioneers used in the cartridge with this bullet weight in 'Target Rifle' (sling) and FTR disciplines. I don't know if they still do. My own experience in the combination is exceptional MVs, but not always top precision.
It even works with the 77gn SMK and similar same-weight bullets in 223 in a suitably long-COAL/long-freebore chamber.

Ok thanks guys I have a lot 69 MKsI've been using VVN-550 for many years. Several cartridges and bullet combinations. One of my favorites is:
.22 Creedmoor with the Sierra 69 gr. TMK. Super out to 350 yards.
