Vudoo bottom metal differences

Vudoo says their bottom metal is not exactly an m5 inlet but gives no more info. I have mine installed and no matter what i do height-wise it gouges the bullets pretty severely or best case scrapes the lube off. Vudoo was no help when i asked. I hate that i spent that much money for the gun and the bottom metal and its pretty much a safe queen because of it

Read about potential issues with barreled actions and magazine fitment with aftermarket stocks and why I bought a complete gun from them. Didn’t feel like fiddling to get ironed out.
Mine has carbon fiber barrel. Once I smoothed out the edges on the rifling from chambering, thing hammers. Not quite as smooth cycling as I hoped for but pleased with it otherwise. Hoping it will smooth out after more cycling. Tolerances are tight!

Can you tell if your round presentation to chamber is high, low, canted up down, left or right?
Maybe bite it and send it back to have them do it with one of their stocks?

I believe I saw you searching for a single shot adapter,,,, how’s that working?

It works but its tough to get the round in there just right and not fall off the back. Its a right port so theres that issue too

Not saying it is easy, go back to your inletting. I purchased a Vudoo barreled action and their bottom metal less than a year ago and my intentions was to put it in a GRS stock. GRS wouldn't guarantee the bottom metal would fit exactly and I still haven't got any confirmation on this so I ran mine through a couple of different chassis - KRG and MTD - some tweaking, shims and bedding and I got the thing to feed and cycle flawlessly. I'm not a fan of plastic or synthetics so I ordered up a Boyds laminate in a Rem short action. As expected, it wasn't a "drop-in" to the 700 SA. The bottom metal doesn't fit width or length and there are some gaps in the length and there was wood to remove on the width. I had to go back several times (to and from the range) to make it cycle and feed how I wanted it to. I haven't read what your preference of stock is, the chassis take a little bit of effort to make them work, the woods take considerable more effort. I don't mean to hijack your thread but if anyone has experience fitting a GRS to the Vudoo please send me a PM about your success or failure on it.

Vudoo was no help? First I have heard that said as Vudoo is usually overly helpful. Who did you talk to?

And if it's not the proper height it will gouge as any .22 will. You either need to set it deeper in the stock or farther out to set that perfect depth.

It was a lady at vudoo that answered my email inquiry. She sent me a solidworks drawing of the bottom metal but i never got an answer on pillar height or m5 differences. I doubt that was her specialty to be fair. I have plastic and aluminum mags and they both seem to have the round pointed too far up and not very level. It feeds good if you dont care about gouging a case or bullet.

Give them a call and talk to them and they will help you. Talk to Greg or Paul.

This is January and then comes February. My point is these are probably the two BUSIEST MONTHS in the firearms industry. SHOT show, distributor shows, SCI Club shows, etc.
It's pretty da*n hard to get the right person on the phone right now because that person is at some (mostly useless) show answering questions like "Hey dude, I want one of those stickers man!"
I am solid with @Rob01 here. Your comments are completely out of character for the CS and technical expertise you'll find at Vudoo during normal times.

To the issue of feeding, I must be just plain lucky because my Vudoo has been in two different stocks and I have eight magazines (polymer). The first stock was a B14 stock and bottom metal purchased on the cheap at Snipers Hide.I had it ceracoated to hide the ugly and bedded. Zero issues feeding anything.
I later moved it to a KRG Bravo. The Bravo has an adjustable mag latch and I have it feeding everything but Eley Tenex perfectly too. Saturday's match with Tenex I had the very first round from the first magazine not want to feed but the other 150 or so rounds fed without any issue.
My Vudoo is a pretty early model. I bought it used and when it arrived it would not properly feed or eject. I called Vudoo and spoke to Paul. After a short conversation he had a UPS label emailed to me for shipping the rifle for inspection. The rifle came back to me ten days after I shipped it with multiple updates and absolutely no charge. All that service for a used rifle and they didn't charge me a cent.

You are not taking away from their work by calling. It's been a year and it's not running right? You need to call and get that figured out.

Thanks rob. Jelrod1 sent me a drawing with the correct pillar heights. Ill check mine and correct if its wrong then see where its at. I dont blame vudoo for poor CS- i blame me for being a poor customer with too many projects. Its easier to pick up one of my other guns to shoot.

I have the gen1 in a Manners T2A with Hawkins bottom metal that runs as smooth as greased Owl shit, that was put together by Omar Alonzo, I had the barreled action and stock that was inletted for a gap tempest and sent it to Omar and he did his magic.

I bought a barrelled action via MileHigh and had some issues in a KRG Bravo stock with bullet feed/scraping the nose and bolt face losing hold on a slow fed round.

Adjusting the Bravo fixed the entry but I had to call/email Vudoo about the extractor tension hold on the rim. They offered to send a shipping label and they’d fix it or I could try a slightly different extractor cut and firmer spring and install them myself if I chose. I went the latter route and it cured all my remaining issues.

They’re there to help. Old thread but I figured I’d post for future readers.
