Maybe you should be a little more specific about which Vortex scope. I know they just this week shipped a pretty sizable load of the new Strike Eagle 5-25 out to dealers.

This is great advice! The people that work at Vortex are very open to answering almost any question. In fact, I would imagine that, given the particular model you are hunting, they could tell you which dealer would have it in stock.

Vortex now has Expertvoice (was ExpertCity) handle their MIL/LEO + First Responder discount program. There is many other companies that ExpertVoice represents at their site. I just sent them a copy of my DD214 with my SS number blacked out. https://www.expertvoice.com

Just received my Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 yesterday (at 45% off no less). Midway shipped it within two days. I think lots of firearm and accessory manufacturers are having a hard time keeping up with demand, but the scope was way easier than getting hand soap.

Some vendors also give this discount. I know Sport Optics does. You have to call and ask vendors if they do this or not.

Vortex Mil/Le can take up to 6 months

Vortex no longer sells direct for LE/Mil so not an issue. That was part of the reason they stopped and that also depended on the product ordered.
