I've known for some time that the Vortex Venom was not %100 parallax free, so I decided to see how much effect it had.
Ruger Competition Target Mark ii
CCI Standard
10 shots @ 25yds rested
Combo capable of 10 shots inside 1 inch circle.
Started with my eye far right and them far left as much as I could and still keep the dot on target.
Point of impact still target center.
Next kept eye off center of sight as far low and then far high as I could.
Point of impact at extreme low still on center.
Point of impact holding extreme high eye position, point of impact was almost 2 inches high..........
So to be fair to Vortex optics, the red dot is virtually free of parallax at 25 yds. The extreme positions I positioned my eye to show any parallax was unnatural to say the least. So now I know if I dont put all 10 shots in the same hole its not because of parallax.
