vortex spotting scopes

Everything except for the Razor HD is NOT worth the money. The Standard Vipers are complete junk at long range. The Viper HD's are OK, but a little overpriced for the optical quality you get. The Razor HD is very nice and worth it's price point.

I looked through a million spotting scopes again and again after getting rid of my Leupold Kenai 25-60x80mm HD spotter. Almost bought the Vortex Razor HD (actually had my buddy holding one for me) until I looked through a Bushnell Excursion FLP. I ended up buying a factroy refurbished 20-60X80mm model and that is the best $320 I've ever spent in my life.
The optical quality is amazing for that price. It's no Swaro or Leica, but for that price it's in a whole class of it's own. Sure beats the hell out of all the cheaper Vortex spotters, even the Viper HD. The Razor may be a little nicer for eye relief, but picture is no better than the Bushnell Excursion.

For $320, I have a spotting scope that is so clear I can determine EXACTLY what I am looking at, at any range, close or far. No eye stress when viewing for long sessions, nice fine focus that really "tunes the picture in". It's also made in a 15-45X60 model, but I have never looked through that one.
