Vortex side focus knob tough to turn?

I acquired a Vortex Viper a few months ago. The side focus knob seems much harder to turn than my other scopes. A co-worker showed me his identical scope and that one is also difficult to turn. Is this typical of all Viper scopes?

edit: The resistance almost feels like there’s a slightly oversized o-ring in the turret

I agree...shot a rifle with a PST Gen2 this past Sunday afternoon...immediately noticed that it was difficult to adjust. It was awfully hot and humid, and I was wringing wet...had to get a hand towel to get a better grip before I could adjust it.

I think it will get easier with use. My 6-24 is easier than my 4-16 which is still in the box new and the 6-24 has been used a bit. My VGE is still stiff like the one in the box.
