Vortex scope issue

Parallax exist when the target image is not focused on the reticle. The little knobby thingy that adjust the objective lens focus is used to focus the target at the reticle plan. The closer the target distance is to the point of infinity (father away), the less critical parallax correction is, and the closer the target distance the more critical it is. The eye movement test should be used to make fine adjustment, but the in/out focus of target image will get close. It is easier for some shooters with some scopes to use the highest magnification to make parallax adjustment more precise.

The only way youll solve this is throw another scope on and check it to your calculator or make sure your input is correct and make sure your calculator works right. Or kick it back to vortex but youre at their mercy if its actually repaired if indeed its at fault. But youre gonna be out more ammo and time to check if they fixed it. You need to hit this one thing at a time. Also my sightron doesnt have any numbers for parallax. I adjust it until i get the best clarity.

Edited to ad: When I switch to g7 bc with the g1 number I get all sorts of messed up moa come ups. Double, triple check the data youre putting in and maybe try yourself on another app/program. Some of them arent very good and some allow so many variable to be left blank or default it can get confusing. Good luck figuring it out. Sucks when you have issues with multiple potential variables.

Knowing that they worked on the parallax, windage, and elevation turrets, Im inclined to believe that any (or all 3) may still have issues..
I returned a Vortex scope I was using on a prairie dog hunt a few years ago. I was absolutely convinced (wrongly I later found out) the scope wasn't holding zero. I sent it in, they ran it through all their tests and found nothing wrong. I got a call from them. They are "supposed" to return the scope in 7 days after receiving. The Tech said if I was Ok with it, he would mount the scope on his 6.5 CM and shoot it at the range to check it further. I said go ahead, he put 40 rounds on target and returned the scope and target to me.

I mention this because they showed a willingness to take additional action to address what I reported as a problem. I would suggest you send it back again, as well as look into the excellent suggestions others have made. Just to be able to rule out potential issues.

I was getting ready to do a tall target test on it this weekend, however, I spoke with vortex support by phone, mentioned that the scope has already been in once for repairs, and that it was worse after.

The lady on the phone told me to just box it back up and they’ll send me a brand new one to replace it at this point to make up for the issue.

I’m pretty happy with that resolution. Hoping the new one has no issues and I can get back to wasting some ammo
