My Bushnell Elite 1500 rangefinder just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Difficult to range anything past 800 yards with it so I recently purchased the Vortex® Razor HD 4000 Rangefinder and I must say I am impressed with it especially for the money.
It will return the horizontally corrected range or line of sight range and the angle of the shot in degrees.
The rangefinder has two range settings standard and ELR. According to the manual it will range to 1600 yards on deer in standard mode 2000 yards when scanning (holding down the measure button as you scan to range different targets in an area) and 2200 yards in ELR mode.
I was easily able to range deer at 1317 yards (furthest deer I saw) in standard mode.
I ranged a water tower at 3847 yards in ELR mode some large buildings at 3785 yards in ELR mode. All measurements were taken while just holding it in my hand, no tripod.
I have to say for the $500 I paid for it it’s a bargain in comparison to the other rangefinders I looked at.
Thought I’d share in case anyone else is looking for a new rangefinder.
