Vortex Golden Eagle Elevation

Will the GE have enough elevation with a 20 moa rail to reach out to 200 yards with a
22lr? Thanks.
i am going to say no.. if your barrel is indexed down.. but if it is indexed up.. then yes you should be able to make it.. maybe

How much eye relief does that scope have when you crank it up to 60 power?

My GE has 56-MOA of elevation travel total.

Donovan,

if memory serves me right.. for every 50 yards, one would need approx 10 minutes of elevation.. so from 50 to 200 yards, would require 30 MOA movement of the reticle to get on target at 200 yards.. i could be wrong.. just trying to pull it out from the back of my brain without doing a google foo!

So if he was using a 20 moa rail, and his reticle is in the middle of the tube.. he might get there.. but even then.. you would have no wind.. to center up..

Can't say..... not knowing his setup and scenario's, to many if's.....
And is why all I stated was how much travel my GE has, in hopes that it may help with the homework.

Cody,WY elev. 5,200'. Remington 40x: 50 yard zero - come up to 200 yards ~ 23' with match ammunition.

Yes you should have no problems getting to 200 from a 50 yard zero with the Golden Eagle on a 20 MOA base. My rifles with Eley 40grn standard at 1071fps at sea level need 7.2 mils to get to 200 yards from a 50 yard zero. That's about 24.6 MOA. With the available elevation in the Golden Eagle and the 20 MOA base that would work just fine.

I think most of the guys getting ready for our annual 200yd shoot said the 10MOA Burris inserts were enough. Not with a GE but just in general.

My 40-X has a 40 MOA base, and shooting Federal 36 grain HP's with a 50 yard zero takes 20.3 MOA for 200 yard POI.
