Vortex ge reticle?

I am thinking about getting the ge for my 223 f/tr rifle.I keep going back and forth on which reticle to go with.So fellas give me some insight why you picked the reticle you did.I will be looking thru one with the scr reticle on it this weekend.

I like the small dot in the center of the ECR. That and having the hold marks. Here's a bad pic of it on the side of a car at about 100 yards.

I like the ECR-1 reticle. I prefer a floating dot, but when I have to hold off, the hashes are nice to have. When I have a steady hold off, it's particularly nice because I can shift my focus to the hash in the center of the target, rather than looking off.

I almost bought a GE because of the ECR-1 reticle. For my kind of shooting I really like how that one is designed and I prefer a dot. The dot on that reticle is quite small at .095 at 40X and even smaller at 60 power, which for me could have been a problem with my vision.

Ended up compromising and saving money and bought a Sightron SIII 10-50X with the MOA-2 reticle. Similar reticle although the dot is .125 at 48X. Has a little less power, a fatter objective and weighs more...all of which is also a compromise. I doubt it will impact my groups though.

I went ahead and ordered the GE with the ECR,what are some good light rings besides the nightforce ultralights?

Thanks Rob I went ahead and ordered the NF ultralights, trying to keep weight down and stay under the limit.
