Bought one for the 17 WSM, had a Weaver Grand Slam on it prior, 4x16x44 with varmint ebx reticle which I really liked, however many varmints this year are hugging the dark shaded tree lines, making the black dot disappear and target acquisition difficult.
Researched around and came across the Vortex Crossfire 11 with the illuminated v-Brite reticle , 11 different intensity levels.
I really liked the way the reticle was set up floating dot with crosshairs not touching , I figured for $269.00 Midway USA I'd take a chance. Grabbed the 6x18x44 adjustable objective, any way had it mounted sighted in at 100 yards with a few shots , scope tracked perfectly glass was as clear as one could hope for, at all magnification levels. And shaded areas it worked perfectly , seven varmints have been taken in the 10 days I've had it, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another which I did to put on my CZ 17 Hornet.
A 200 yard shot on a hog standing was on the money using the black dot only in bright sun, the sunshade included works perfectly. This is the field where a 200 yard shot was taken , the wind played a part in me being slightly off but the throat hit put him down.Unless something changes I'll stay with these scopes for now. Keep in mind the 17 WSM sighted in at 100 yds, only drops 4.1 inches at 200 , and still packing close to 200 lbs of energy. I put the dot on his nose and down he went, shooting from a steady rest off the seat of the Yamaha 450 Kodiak. The telephone pole at about 11 o clock is 390 yards , pretty decent field.
