Voldoc just took delivery of a new Wilson 6 BR barrel urbanrifleman twisted up for him a week ago. He is leaving on a prarie dog safari to North Dakota in a couple of weeks. He wanted to check his elevation come-ups from 100 out to 800 yards. The barrel is one that can be head spaced with the Savage barrel nut. Voldoc has the best equipment. He had a set of Vortex binoculars with rangefinder and elevation solution built in to the binoculars. He can program the system from an app on his cell phone. He had 3 rifles programed into the system. A 6 BR and a 12 twist dasher and a 8 twist dasher. One was a Nesika Model J and one was a Diamondback drop port. Both dashers were shooting 87 V-max. Voldoc has made many 1,000 yard dog kills with the vererable 87 V-max. All three guns were featured in the Gun of the Week several years ago. Called I believe Tennessee triple threat. The Savage action is the rifle that Voldoc once made a 1,000 yard dog kill with a 20 BR 8 twist barrel.
Urbanrifleman did not disappoint. The 6 BR shot great all the way to 600 yd. We were shooting after noon in 90 degree temps, high humidity, and wind. Typical Tennessee summer conditions. Voldoc had already zeroed the NF 12 x 42 DD reticle at his Celina, Tn Moonshine Mountain Rifle Range. His first two shots were nearly touching. Then he fine tuned the scope and Shot # 3 was dead on at 100. Next he got his elevation come up from the Vortex binocs at 300. Dead on. Next 400, 500, 600. All the elevation corrections were dead on. I did not think about taking any pics but I did get a pic of his 3 shot - 100 yard zeroing scope target
Thanks again to urbanrifleman in Oklahoma for the great barrel
