VOL DOC turned in a shooting exhibition Tuesday at the DOME.
Steve Perry from Scottsville was there as witness also.
He first shot a Rayhill Savage 6 br and was checking out a Vortex
first focal plane. He was checking using the lines for come - ups
at different ranges instead of dialing.
Then the clinic began. He had his 700 clone which I can't think of the
brand, on a beautiful black stock he traded me for the Johnny Reb stock.
He had the old familar 12 - 42 NXS, F2. He checked zero at 100 yards by
almost tacking out the thumb tack. 2 nd shot dead on at 300. He continued center
punching at 300, 400, 500, 600, and 800 yd. At 800 he made a heart shot , head shot
on Ole Chuckie, then took out Chico the prarie dog.
I brought my BORDEN TPE rifle that Joel Kendrick won the Nationals with and also shooter of the year back around 2006.
I mounted a NF 12-42 x 56 BR with CH-3 reticle which is a small floating dot, similar to a DD with only one dot. I bore sighted and first shot was on paper. Dialed scope and next two were touching about 2 inches left, elevation good. I dialed in one more time. I had a small tack for a poi, Point of Aim. Shot #4 took the tack out. I wanted to shoot one more, so I aimed at Shot #4 bullet hole and put #5 through the same hole
