Viper Bench Rests

Just a tip of my hat to my friend Bob Pastor. I like 1 of a kind custom stuff. When I was in the market for a front rest to use for competition bench rest shooting out Williamsport way and came across The Vipers Den I knew I had to give this guy a call. Seems we were from the same neck of the woods in our misspent youth and that started off a great friendship. If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing the beautiful works of art he hand makes you should take a few minutes and roll on over to www.viperbench-rest.com . Find your way to the "customizing" page and check it out....The one he made for me is at the top of that page with the roses on it. I rolled up to his place a few weeks ago to pick it up and it is definitely a precision piece of equipment . I could not be more pleased. Looking forward to a return trip when winter is done....If it ever is really done up there in Michigan.. ;)

That is a nice looking rest, is it for long range bench work? In the pics it looks like it was darn near dipped in paint. The man has talent.

That is a powder coating from Prismatic Powders. The color looks a bit lighter than it actually is....Dark Rose it is called. All the brass is from mostly melted down and reworked 6.5-06 Lapua cases that were past their prime. You can see the process if you poke around the site a bit. 8)......Yes it is for long range bench work...

Bob Pastor is quite the "Character", Living in Michigan the Viper is more like a "Snow Snake" today than a Viper.

I have one of his rests. This is like a rest used by bullet making companies for testing the accuracy of their bullet line. If you can't shoot good groups using this rock steady rest, better check out your rifle and loads. This is the best rest I've ever seen and used. Boy nothing moves even with heavy recoil.

i too have one of bobs rests i might just have viper number 1 wouldnt trade it for nuttin bob is a great competitor and a damn good rest maker if you ever need anything for it or have trouble with it he will always be there
