Vihtavuori Powder Info Needed

I’m looking for some info on Vihtavuori powder, ive never personally used It and I would like some feedback on whether or not it’s as good as some say it is. I have the opportunity to buy a large amount of it from a deceased mans widow but it’s a buy it all or none type deal and I don’t want to buy all the stuff if I can’t use it. If it’s something worth having I’m thinking about possibly buying it all and selling whatever I don’t think I need for whatever I have in it just to recoup some of my money. Is this a smart move or should I pass? If I do it I basically have to buy all he had of primers, powders and bullets which is a ton. I didn’t count all of it but it’s probably around 130 pounds of powder I’d guess in Vihatavuor, IMR and some Hodgdon, most being the V brand.
Im not concerned with the past storage aspect of it since I know for a 100% fact it’s been stored correctly but my biggest concern is it’s usability and my ability to sell what I don’t need, Your thoughts?

It is top drawer. Really good quality. Can be a bit expensive in the US as it is imported from Europe I believe but it is very good.

Thumper,

Buy it all, try it all, take what you don't like to a club match and share the wealth. You should be able to get your money back out of it.

BTW, You'll like how cleanly the VV burns.

During these times if you didn't want some of it, you'd be able to sell
it for retail plus and make a little money on it.
In using the VV powders, it either works really well or doesn't, no kind of
or close. You just have to try it.
Since it's more expensive, people haven't been using it as much as the other
brands and not as much data out there.
Here some reloading data from them.

That sounds great and I appreciate your thoughts on the powder but I’m not wanting or willing to sell anything for a profit, I’m not hurting for money and I certainly don’t want to even slightly be thought of as a profiteer in these troubling times. If I end up with it and anyone close by wants some of it I’ll offer some of it up to you guys.
I’m waiting to hear back from her now so we shall see.

I didn't mean for you to gouge like on some of the sites.
Just enough to cover your costs and make enough for a quarter pounder with cheese!

Have tried two VV powders . N150 , and N530 . For whatever reason , I couldn't get the N150 to seal the neck on my loads , and I went to near destruction on charge weight . But it does clean up very easy . Excellent . And sadly for me ...It shot great . The n530 does really good on all counts . So much so , that I bought a 8 lb'er after testing with a pound . Only minor complaint is , as others ave said . It's a little pricey . I'll use it when I have to .

VihtaVuori was the darling of the bench rest guys in 6 PPC through the 90s. I still have containers of N135 and N140 from the mid 90s which shoots fine today. It was all properly stored. A few weeks ago I mentioned in a forum how I planned to get rid of some powder for sale local (Cleveland, Ohio). I just have more powder than I'll use during my lifetime. Nice guy sent me a PM from Pittsburgh, PA so I told him all or none at $12.50 a pound. I listed all of what I wanted to part with, there is 43 LBs primarily VihtaVuori. I told the buyer this will likely be the best deal he has ever made. :) He is due here Friday the 29th to pick it up.

Personally I like the stuff. Sold plenty of it when we had the gun shop. Other than 6 PPC I used it in .308 Win, 7mm-08 Rem, 30-06 Spring and a few others.

As to a smart move? Depends on the price.

Ron
