Verticle Stringing

What are the main causes of verticle stringing? Will have nice groups with one or two out, always verticle. Don't have a crony right now.

What kind of gun are we talking about here? Reload's or factory stuff? Does it alway's shoot like that? Is this with a clean barrel? A little history would help here.

I've always been told Tunning is about vertical.

Nose heavy gun, sand bags over filled(especially the front), gun handling, forearm stop too far forward. Of course tuning and all the loading variables.

I asked the site manager if he wound consider deleting all post older than 3 years to clean up the website. He said no. I also got a lot of remarks by guys that think repeating the same stuff a 1000 times is usefull to many people.

Couldn't agree more. This is precisely why deleting older posts is a terrible idea. There are a lot of gold nuggets laying around in the archives. The end user has to pay attention to the date. Pretty simple.

This morning early, I took out a rimfire to work on and foul my
match rifle. I gave the Douglas a deep clean, and this barrel needs
quite a few foulers to settle in. I just fired three and will do the rest
on Saturday's sighter target. Either way, the cold bore shot went a
full one inch low. The second went 1/2" high of the first, and the
third about 3/8th" on top of that. It's typical of this barrel and it has
450 rounds thru it.

I taught Skydiving classes for Thirty-five years , and Oddly enough , I was still getting the same boring questions from those in my very "LAST" class , as the ones I got from students in my very first class . WE were ALL students at one time , and I continued to "learn" from my students for Thirty-five years .

I had a rifle that had a 2x4 pc of steel on the front of the stock, I do some crazy stuff sometimes but anyway it shot vertical no matter what load, shifted wt to back and was amazed, not the chunk of steel but some lead shot...but I'm craZY anyway
