Velocity with 284 win and 180s?

Title pretty much says it. What kind of velocities can I expect with a 284 win and 180gr vld bullets? The barrel I ordered is a 26in 1-9 twist. Any load data or experiences with this combination would be great!

Depending with what powder your going to use, somewhere between 2650 & 2710 would be a ruff guesstiment.

Yeah, but there is a slight difference between the standard .284 and the Shehane version.

With my CBI cut down to 26", I can still reach 2800 with the 180 Berger hybrid and 2815 with the sierra 175 MK. H4831sc with a .220 freebore.

Getting 2815 with a 29", 4831sc and 180 Hybrids. Could go a bit harder but the chrono told me I was wasting powder. My smith gave the gun to me with an H1000 load that chronoed 2975 - I only shot 4 shells and haven't touched that stuff. He built it in January and did not think anything of the possible variability in summer when I finally had time to shoot it. Built the 4831 load and never looked back. 2775-2850 is plenty fast enough for me.

I had a really great accuracy node at 2615 iirc. Kind of want to shoot it that way, but it's still shooting darn good at 2815.

Standard .284, 1-9/30.5". F-open load with 180Hyb. & 4831sc. My most accurate node is at 2895', You'll have to do the math for a 26" barrel. If I had to guess about 20-25'/sec per inch = 2782'-2805..I guess I just did the math for you?? Eric in DL
