I just started load development on my new 6BR.
Its a 24" Pac-Nor 13.25" twist.
I am using 68gr Berger's and Varget.
All that I have read told me that 34.2gr of Varget is the standard for this bullet weight so I started at 32.1gr and worked up to 34.2 in .3 increments.
My question is ...are my velocity's real or is my chrony messed up?
The most accurate load was 33.9gr of Varget but it produced a velocity of 3420fps.The standard 34.2 was 3435fps.My starting load of 32.1 was 3250.
I have a col of 2.145,this is a .010" jam.
Do these speeds sound about right,is my chrony messed up or do I have a fast barrel, maybe a hot lot of Varget?
I didn't think I would be going over 3350fps.
This load is strictly for paper punching.
Any thoughts?
Dean
