VBR Championship Match , Ridgway PA

The championship match for the 1000 yard VBR shoot in Ridgway PA will be held on August 5th and 6th. Lots of Great Prizes, this is always a good time. There is still time to pre-register.

Great shoot, great people and a great time. I can't wait. If you've never tried this discipline you have no idea on what you're missing.

Ray, the rules aren't posted on the website. Here goes what I think I know.

Light gun is 12lbs and under. Heavy is up to 17. Pretty much follow Williamsport light gun rules with one change that I know of, Ridgway doesn't allow large port side discharge breaks even if it's cut perpendicular to the bore.

2 minutes unlimited sighters, 10 shots for score, animals must fall to count and be hit in order. 4 distances, crows at 850, ground hog at 900, bobcats at 950 and coyotes at 1000.

2 day agg, supper provided Saturday

Haven't had my coffee yet......So to shoot 1 gun for 1 day what will my round count be for record?........Thanks

I usually only shoot 50 rounds in a single match. 2 in morning then 2 sighters for each distance then 40 for match. Any more is just extra shooting just for the shooting.

Thanks again for the heads up. I am really going to try to make this one. Saturday only for me though. With a minimum of 40 shots for 1 gun in one day I think that is a lot of " Bang For Your Buck " .....so to say...

your welcome
when we plan we always plan 40 record and 5 sighters for each distance. (for a total of 60 rounds) During the Championship match we will be having random shoot offs. so you want to bring extra rounds in case your name is drawn
What do you bring for the entire weekend?

I like a few extra, 80 for score, 56 sighters. 2 sets of 17 in case of a shoot off. Plus a few just in case something odd we're to happen. So all in all I'll be closer to 180 total rounds

what are the rifles used in this shoot?
what do the shooters use for cartriges and loads to shoot this type of game?
thank you for your time.

anything from 6BR's with 105 grain bullets up too an occasional 338. Mostly fast 6's and 6.5's lately.
