Just shot in my first vbr 1000 yd shoot, probably the funnest shooting sport that I ever encountered. I am hooked and can't wait till next month

Ridgway gun club in PA,YOU SHOOT CROWS @ 850, groundhogs @ 900, Bobcats @950 and coyotes @1000
Shot there a couple of years ago, great people, great range, excellent time. I am planning to shoot there over labor day.

Always great to have new guys on the line...sure is a load of fun!...

Make sure you stop by Bobcat 4 and say hello. My boy placed again on his second match, He's shooting real well. I'm not sure he knows how difficult it is. Of course we don't harass him like everyone else at the bench! I ended up fairing pretty well myself and placing.

Whatcha shooting? Oh btw, that was pretty typical wind for Ridgway.. Last year we had unseasonably calm matches.

Dragman... how'd that Ultra-mag fair?! I think you blew my hat off from 15 benches down lol

Ground hog 6 for me.

That ultra shot well until it got hot. the second 5 animals was always a crap shoot, if I keep it for next month I will have to cool the load down a bit so it doesn't heat up as fast 103.1 grains is just a little much for that kind of match.

Anyone have a gun they want to sale or trade???? lol

Lol, I can load up 3 rounds with that kind of powder!... You have stock in Retumbo or something? Not to rob the thread, but I believe the barrel heating up. We had a fellow shoot with us last year using a 300 RUM.. He ended up actually blowing his muzzle break off before the end of the match. Pretty rough sport on a fluted sporter barrel.

I was spotting for him, every shot he'd add about a ft of right. When he was all done, I ended up telling him to aim for the first coyote and he hit the last one on his 10th shot... His barrel was steaming hot!

buzzardab - what are you shooting??

Petey - RL33 in this one. I didn't know If it would stay cool enough or not guess I found out! I like shooting a different gun each match keeps things interesting.

We have bench coyote 3 I'm shooting an f class savage 6.5x 284 ,it is brand new and I went there with only 30 shots bein fired thru it . I must of got lucky on a load that I tried during the week cause I shot a few 3 shot groups with it at 250yds that were under a half inch

Heck man, you're only 3 benches to the left of me. Got a lot of buddies in between us too. If they get too rowdy, let me know!

Great match and great club!! We always have fun shooting there... I was shooting my 6x47 but next month I am planning on shooting my 300 wsm.

Crow 7 :)

At our club ( www.bentongunclub.org ) we do it a little different do to range length restriction.

We shoot 1/5 scale metallic silhouette, 22RF only, from the bench at the following ranges: chickens at 100 yards; pigs at 125 yards; turkeys at 150 yards; and, rams at 175 yards. For those of us that shot this before it will be the same format. Classes will be: Standard Rifle; Custom Rifle; Semi-automatic Rifle; Standard Pistol; and, Semi-automatic Pistol.

Great fun as we use swinger animals so no resetting.
