Varmint Grenade Help,9 twist LRPV)

OK, I gave in and bought a box. Label wants 7-10 twist, Geez, they are long for the weight which is 50 grain.

Anyone having some time on these can shortn my learning curve.

Thanks in advance.

HM

Yes sir, I have had the problems with the 50 gr because of the length and unless your shooting a 220 or 22-250ai or something at extreme velocity, it is a problem with factory guns.

With a little more info on the stick you are putting them through I might be able to help so post some info on that and I am sure you will get better response. They work okay out of my 220 but for the hassle it is easier to use others. The 36's work well and with really good groups at a hundred, but hopefully someone here has better ideas as I would also like to what it takes to make 'em work, because they are finicky.

getting no problems out of the 6mms, and accuracy is there also

Savage LRPV, 22-250, 9 twist.

I should be able to steam these things if they will take it.

I want to take 50 along to test for max carnage on PD's.

I have some loaded with 36/36.5 of 4895, haven't shot them yet.

If you ran these I would like to hear your results and loads.

thanks,

HM

I've been playing with the 36g VG in a .221 FB. Because of the long bearing surface, I'm getting to the max even before my max 40g V-Max loads. Also, small variations in load, making big difference on the target. I'm moving in .1-.2 grain increments. I'd load the 50 grainer like its a 45g.

Good point, the long bearing surface will make for increased pressure, I think.

I just bought them so I could explode some critters in a spectacular fashion. the box says 7-10 twist.

We will have to see what happens next.

I shoot 62gr vgs out of my 6mm rem 1-9 twist with 43gns h414 and they shoot well, be careful they vary in weight, mine did:crazy::crazy:
