Varmint contour or Medium Palma

Time to re-barrel my Rem 700 . Has a Hart varmint contour now. Its a heavy rifle. Going to order a Brux barrel. They have a Remington contour varmint bbl. They also have a Medium Palma contour that a bit lighter . Any reason I wouldn't want that on a varmint rifle ?

There's nothing wrong with the medium Palma contour for heavy use. I have used that profile on several match rifles in .30-06, .308, 6BR and 6XC and it holds accuracy very well. If the weight and balance suit your needs, I don't see a downside to that choice.

I have a Palma taper on my fual-role varmint/target rifle; and it's great !

I recommend a Med Palma taper.
