Varget and 7mm Rem Mag

Anyone try Varget with 7mm Rem Mag? Looking at trying it with 139 or 145 Barnes LRX. Wondering if anyone has any "real world" experience with this possible load and what the results were.

Haven't tried it but I would think varget would be to fast to be optimal. I have not checked but is there printed load data for it?

Hodgdon has some online info up to 130 gr bullet with Varget - not the Barnes Bullet though. I have been working on H4831sc but something just isn't clicking. May try the H4350... I just have 6lbs of Varget and nothing to use it with. LOL

I love Varget and use a lot of it but it’s definitely not optimal for a 7 mag. I have used a lot of 4831 and like it but got best results with DuPont 7828

4064 is similar to varget. I shot a light load on antelope with the 7 Mag with 54g of IMR 4064. There is a lot of airspace in this load, and there were hang fires until I started using CCI 250s, 120s at 3000 fps, very accurate.

I never tried it, there's too many more suitable powders for the 7 mag
