value of magazine collection

I have a complete collection of both Rifle and Handloader magazines dating back to the mid 1960s when both started. Any ideas on the value of these? I also have 30 years of Precision Shooting. I'm looking to sell each collection complete, not break them up. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Shipping is the killer on these, I bought several PS Mags in the $1-$3 range. I paid a little more for particular issues that were hard to find. Usually to get that price I had to buy several years worth. It's sad that PS Magazine never put those articles on a website somewhere. The information and test and expertise that was found in that magazine were pricless.
Fortunately today we at least have this Forum. Where most of the knowledge those articles contained is now floating somewhere in cyberspace.

I was thinking more along the lines of a local sale to fellow club members or putting them on a table at a gun show to avoid the shipping issue.

Both of those publications are available On CD / DVD . I replaced a shelf of magazines with 12 CDs .
Now if only Precision Shooting would do the same . My wife would love it , more room .

I just checked eBay and found lots of Handloader magazines for sale, hundreds of listings gathering dust at "buy it now" pricing. Only four auctions with all zero bids. It appears the magazine is worth less than the shipping.

You're going to need a really big gun show in a metropolitan area. The small gun shows within a hundred miles of my location aren't worth the time, gas or entry fee. I stopped going years ago.
On a related topic, I had the complete collection of Mooney Owners Assn. magazines. The first few years they had black and white photos only. Gave them away for the shipping cost.

What do you expect when they put the vertical stabilizer on backwards. The text was probably written right-to-left. :p
Hey, that was for all us wannabe P51 pilots. It had forward swept vertical stab and wing control surfaces but not the horizontal stab. Ours had all THREE :D and it was a lot sexier than those dorky straight tail Cessnas. :p
