Value of a Rem 700 VS SF II used barrel in 204 Ruger

Not sure where to post, so I will try here. I have a used barrel (less than 500 rounds) from a Remington 700 VS SF II chambered for 204 Ruger. In good condition, but certainly not like new in use or exterior condition.

Just wondered if there would be any demand for this type used barrel, and what value it might bring.

not really unless someone really wants it. list it on classifieds and what you might take as possible trade??
the few times i have needed a take off, my gunsmith has just gave them to me. good luck

Buying a used fast-stepping varmint barrel is almost always a crap shoot. Round count (assuming the seller actually counted) isn't the entire story. Were the 500 rounds shot during one prairie dogging weekend? That rate of fire could seriously affect a bore.

It's like buying a hotrod car. It may only have 10,000 miles on the odometer but if most of those miles were accumulated while running quarter mile runs at the dragstrip the car is already ragged out.

I'm NOT saying that you haven't counted rounds or done anything wrong. Just talking about used varmint barrels in general.

As others have posted, it's whatever the market will bear. I've sold them for $50 to $100, dependent on contour and caliber. Aside from that, Christmas season is always a good time to buy used stuff, cheap. Momma and the kids want under that tree looking good. :p:D

Those VSSFII in 204 Ruger are pretty rare. Wish I had a complete one. :)
I have one and it has been awesome. It may open up today but it's worst 100yds group to date is .8. It does well no mater what load combination I feed it. I did buy it early. Some where in the 2004-2006 neighborhood right when they first came out.

I put a slightly used (150 rd) 26" SS fluted VSSFII 204 ruger barrel on a 700 SPS when I shot out my original sporter barrel. Checked the VSSF II chamber, trued the threads and action and it's now a solid sub 1/4 MOA rifle. Best factory barrel I've ever shot. Bore scope shows extermely smooth finish. Very well made.
