Vacation with gun shop stops

Took a trip to Kentucky to visit some family and hit a piece of the Bourbon Trail. Spent a few days in Bardstown and made a stop there at Kentucky Gun Co. NICE store, well stocked and the new norm in pricing. Snagged 6 bottles of powder including H322 that has been tough to find. Even found some BR4 primers but I decided I didn't want them that bad, WOW$

Thought you might like a couple pictures for a Sunday morning drool. Nothing in my area has any shelves that look like this.

C’mon man! If you’re a True Texan, that’s just a short drive! ;) I was in Arkansas and Tennessee last week.
In a prior lifetime I was privileged to drive in a specialized niche of FedEx, FedEx Custom Critical. Anything to anywhere, U.S. or Canada, so long as a road went to it. Load Friday morning in Alvin, TX. and deliver Monday morning in Syracuse, NY. where they got half and the other half to Baltimore before close of business. And many more similar. Some really interesting ones like a 2 gallon jug of chemical valued at $400k that was a component in space shuttle heat shields. So yeah, not a big deal drive. Then. Now retired a baker's dozen years a drive to the opposite side of Houston for lunch with family is a major distance. My normal driving now is a 3 mile radius of home. :)

Yipes! I order powder from MiWall. I guess it would come to that for just one pound with the fees. But the price for that powder is $49.00 and when I've ordered I've always ordered 4 pounds assorted so the fees divided aren't so bad. About $59-60 and no 80 mile round trip for that in a batch.

yeah—. i dont think id pay that either— let that on the shelf for sure!! for a long time i bought powder from LSG in 1# ers. when they closed the doors because owner passed i started buying it mail order and i switched to 8# to spread the hazmat and shipping out to. i seldom buy any 1# now for the same reason and also i want the lot concistancy and at times its a little cheaper than per pound.

Yes, it does save a little buying the 8#. I won't use up all I have even with only a couple of 1#ers though. And went a little crazy buying different ones with good write-ups. But if I shot more I'd buy 4 or 8 pounders as available.

I like how they utilize the white boards so the rising prices can be frequently updated.
