V3 for Sartorius issues

well I purchased the V3 auto system and I can not get it to hold zero for my Entris scales. I can zero the glass cup out and remove it put it back on and scale never zeros back out. Re zero and same issues.
I never had issues with these scales until now. All those setting changes has really made the scale drift or its the electronics involved. Somethings just not right.
So I’m reaching out to you guys who has this system and what we’re your issues and how we’re they corrected? I’ve got matches coming up and I got to be able to trust these scales for my powder charges.

So I'm guessing you have the auto trickler and the powder dump hooked up to your Entris? Do you have a line conditioner and a surge protector for your power supply? Any fluorescent lights on the same power supply?

I have a line conditioner and voltage regulator both hooked up. I do have the compete auto system. As always the fluorescent light directly above the bench was off. These scales always held zero before the V3 auto system was added. If I can’t get it worked out in a day or two I’ll return for a refund.

It sounds like line noise but you sure have it covered. How long have you had scales? Cable hooked up correctly? Somethings not compatible. I'd talk to manufacturer before sending back.

How much is your zero floating? Mine has more recently floated by .02gr while throwing 25 charges. Enough to be noticeable but not enough to matter much unless I’m trickling in the very last kernel.

I found the glass cup and handle put my scale near maxing out on the weight limit so I immediately replaced it with a stainless steel measuring cup (looks like a SS shot glass) and hot glued the plastic handle to it. Dropped the weigh by over one half. No drift noticed. One thing I noticed with the new set-up is my auto-trickler body is closer to the scale base and it causes a shift in weight of 0.045+gr when I move it into position versus several inches away from the scale. Prior to the addition of the autothrower I was able to keep the trickler further back. I just make sure every component is in its final position prior to taring out the pan/cup.

Mines drifting as much as .1 grains to the negative side.
Hmmm... that sure is a significant problem. Have you tried using a different cup other than the glass one? As I mentioned my glass cup would cause an overweight condition while a charge was dispensing so I changed to a lighter tall metal cup. I have not noticed any drift once warmed up after the addition of the V3 autothrow/trickler.

I’ve decided to just return it and stay with my Prometheus. I couldn’t seem to get the problem resolved and after setting the scale back to my original settings it’s back holding zero with no drifting.

This pad made a huge change in how my Sartorius scale
now functions. You won’t be disappointed.
Ben

Well I removed everything and boxed it up. Then decided ok I’m going to try the auto trickler alone and see how that works. So I hooked it up set my desired charge to 41.2 grains and began weighing charges light and let the auto trickler finish it off. It worked flawlessly each and every time. So I was like ok let’s try the auto dispense system again. So I unpacked it all set it up wiped it all down with anti static spray and cloth just to be sure it was static free. Turned it all on set my charges at 41.2 grains and here we go. Each drop my scale kept drifting negative by .012 and kept going all way to .2 grains negative on the weight of the powder bowl. So I thrower one last charge and it settled in on 41.2 grains removed the powder and dumped it into another pan re zeroed the scale on the powder pan and dumped the powder back into the pan and sure enough it was over charged by .212 grains so it actually weighed 41.412 instead of 41.2
So it’s removed boxed back up and I’m using the auto trickler with no issues what so ever. Watched the scale and my powder pan and it never drifted from the zeroed weight of the pan.
So what in the world can be wrong with the powder dispenser to make my scale keep drifting backwards?

With both V2 and V3, my Sartorius Entris 128 drifts, usually negative. However its drift is usually .005 to .010 grains cumulative over several rounds. I thought that was just the change in room temperature. I simply re-tare when it gets close to -.010.

Possibly that big hunk of metal over top of your scale? I just bought the auto trickler for my A&D but did not go with the auto throw, I just use Lee dippers.

It’s basically all aluminum and plastic. Are you suggesting it vibrates or causes instability, of that it affects things some other way?

Those high end lab scales work on a hybrid pressure sensor and maybe that motor/dispenser over top of it is affecting the scale? I can turn my on and it will hold zero for days with or with out the cup on it but if you just put the slightest pressure on any corner of the scale it will float away from zero.
