Use Pulled Bullets?

Due to operator error I'm going to have some Berger 6mm, 105 gr. bullets that have to be pulled. Would you still use these for target shooting purposes or move them to the sighter/fouler group?

Re: Use Pulled Bullets

I have reused pulled bullets for target shooting didn't see any difference in performance as long as the bullet jacket wasn't damaged , case necks prepared properly and i re-size my brass after pulling

Same here. As long as you can't see damage beyond a little neck tension marking... I run them with everything else.

I've been pulling A LOT of .308 bullets down lately. My buddy has given me a bunch of factory ammo to part out and make good ammo with.

Nope, prob nothing wrong with em, but to satisfy my own anal tendincies and to retain confidence in my match ammo. I dont include pulled bullets in my "for record string" shooting.

These are set aside for foulers and rough sighters & such.

Gotta do what you feel comfy with. Feels good, just do it.. ;)

just my .02$

I seem to run into this issue on a regular basis, I just bag them up, set them aside and recycle them in practice loads. Regards JCS

If you pull them with a collet puller they're probably different. Recheck your distance to the lands between pulled and normal.

I once pulled 44 or so bullets in 6BR with a collet. Distance to the lands changed dramatically.
With no need for so many foulers I decided to rework my load with normal powder and usual seating depth which now included a hefty jump to the lands.
One Audette ladder and a coupla three shot groups to verify accuracy. Had about nine left over. Loaded em up with the best charge weight and by golly they shot better than my standard load. 9 at 200yds well under a dime, very well under.
Tried same bullet with massive jump and some shorter bearing length bullets as well. Never found that magic again.

Actually considered seating and pulling some more to see what happened. Never did.

I'm using a hammer/impact puller and about all I'm seeing is mild scuff marks after I pull the bullet. I'm guessing they'll be good to go. I'm not a competition shooter but I will segregate them to see if there's any difference but I doubt I'll see it.
