use 6.8 SPC bullets in a .270 win?

Looking at various .277 bullets.

Some of the ones listed for the 6.8 in 115grns etc look interesting for use in a .270.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Good selection of varmint,target and hunting bullets there. Any would be fine out of the .270 i would be looking at the Barnes or Noslers for deer hunting.

I have been shooting the 110 grain Barnes in both my 270 Win and 270 Weatherby with excellent accuracy. Killed a nice Mule deer with the 270 Winchester 3 years ago that just dropped. I used 110 grain Accubonds this year in that rifle to kill 3 antelope. I recovered 2 of the bullets and they retained about 75% and opened to .5". I used a 110 grain Sierra several years ago in the 270 Weatherby to bag a nice mule deer. Meat damage was minimal much to my surprise. I played with the load in the Weatherby and was able to get it to shoot to the same poi at 100 yards as my trusted 130 grain Sierra Pro Hunter. Tom

Shouldn't make any difference which bullet you use. The .277 size bullets are for the .270 and the 6.8. I started with the 90s in my 6.8 SPC bolt gun and am having no problems. Working with 110s and lighter. Shoot what you can get.

I shoot the 110 accubonds for the 6.8 in my 270wsm at 3,515 fps. It's very accurate and deadly on deer.
