Use 40x Bolt in a Standard 700 Action??

Both are short actions. The 700 has a 222 bolt with a Remmage barrel now. I'm thinking of getting another Remmage barrel in maybe a Creed.

Is there any problem in borrowing the bolt from my 22BR 40x action for the rifle in that incarnation?

The 40x bolt seems to fit and function fine in the 700 action, but of course not vice-versa. 700 bolt is not grooved with the slider/guider thingy.

Thanx in advance, and howdy y'all. I haven't been around much lately. jd

Thanks Butch. For now I don't plan on using the 40x - 22BR as a switch barrel, so I don't need the 222 Bolt for it. I kind of like the idea of using the 700 which is already set up with a nut-barrel to use with the 308 family bolt face and cartridge. jd

sort of along these lines,,, what is involved in changing 40x magnum boltface to standard boltface? Will a standard remington 700 bolt fit in that 40x receiver?
