USA Redfield Target

I just bought an old USA made Redfield Target 8-32x40mm. I'm guessing late 90's model. Does anybody here know if these were any good. It looks very well made. My plan is to use it for working up loads or for Silhouette shooting.

I do not know when they quit making them but many, many years ago when I was shooting 3 position small bore that scope was introduced. I thought I had to have one but with a young family , no money for it. I was glad shortly afterwards as they did not stay popular very long. I don't know why. I just know some good small bore shooters I shot with did not keep them around long. I would not recommend it.

The only thing I can say is now you have it , try it out and see how it works and if it does what you need it to do then you are golden. I have 3 tasco 8-32x50 world class plus scopes amd they work quite well. I own many leupolds and Baush scopes , weavers you name it. They all work decent but it depends on what you are doing with it. Silhouette is mostly standing isn't it? I am not sure but if you can make good score with it who cares.

No one makes a good variable power scope anymore with a dot reticle bigger than 1/8" dot or one with 1/4" adjustments. Had a EFR 6.5-24 with a .5 moa dot once, and a T24x with a .5 dot, but sold them 10 or more years ago.
