Urgent Online poll to ban lead ammo in Oregon

Fellow shooters, I live in the heart of Condor country and have had to use lead free bullets for some time. The fact is that the Ca Fish and Game Dept has no proof that lead poisoning is coming from bullet fragments and as such opposed the current law which will soon make Ca 100% lead free. Please respond to this poll. Thanks. Tom

I guess that I was a day late and a dollar short again but I see this trend for the entire western US. It doesn't have to be right, it just has to be fashionable especially when so many people are grossly uniformed and will believe anything in print. I quit watching 60 Minutes many years ago because they only tell their side of the story and always in a very convincing way. Lord knows the press would never tell us less than the full story! As a former Californian hunter who recently moved to Oregon I vote 'No'. The truth of the matter has been that the lead ammunition ban in Southern California has been in effect quite a while yet the Condors in that area are still fighting lead poisoning. Lead being a naturally occurring element in the state one might deduce they are getting it some other way. I started using Barnes bullets long before the ban and like them for their terminal effectiveness. I do not, however, support dictating the type of tool a hunter chooses to use to take his or her game.

I live in SW Wisconsin, a region known for its vast lead mines. If the gov't is worried about lead issues they should have surely found it here. I've lived here for 35 years. No lead poison present in my last lab results. Drink a lot of water and eat a lot of midwest cattle and chickens. Maybe they need to take a poll here. Can't say our current gov't have much common sense or morals in general! Scott
