Upward Pressure on Barrel????

I have a little lightweight build that I put together. For the life of my I cannot get it to bughole. Its shoots decent, but all of my guns shoot very well and this one has me baffled. Quality parts, bedded, floated....the works.

Its a light fluted #2 contour

Any recommendations? I have been thinking about adding some pressure to barrel.

Give me your thoughts and recommendations.

Thanks

I had a Winchester 70 in 223 with the same problem.I put two business card under the thin barrel and went from one moa to 3/8.In my opinion it's worth a try.Seems to work more on the light barrels.

You can try it to see if it helps. Can't hurt anything to try. Placing pressure under the barrel at the end of the stock forend might help reduce the whip in the barrel.

I wouldn't expect bug holes from a #2 contour though. 3/4" 3-shot groups are very respectable in a lightweight mountain type rifle. If you can get groups sub MOA, I would be more than happy or you might shoot the barrel out trying to do better.
